Japan launches new satellite

Beijing ,China successfully launched a new satellite into space at 5:07 pm China time, Friday (2 / 11). Ten satellites will be used to aid navigation system and global positioning network known as Beidou, or Compass system.

Page Xinhua proclaim, the satellite is launched from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC) in the southern province of Sichuan. According to the launcher, the satellite carried by carrier rocket Long March-3A into geosynchronous orbit. This is the launch of all 153 of the carrier rocket Long March.

The basic structure of the current Beidou system has also been built and the engineers plan to conduct a comprehensive system of testing and evaluation. This system will provide a test-run service positioning, navigation and time for China and neighboring regions before the end of this year.

Some of the new satellite will be launched before the end of 2012 for Beidou networks, and its coverage area will also be expanded. Global satellite positioning and navigation systems will be completed in 2020 with 30 satellites orbiting the earth. Beginning in 2000, Beidou navigation satellite system is designed to solve China's dependence on the U.S. Global Positioning System
